Guess who was interviewed for IIDA Southern California’s “10 Questions” featurette? Go see what I have to say about sweet tea, my favorite chair, and a sparkly outfit over here
Thanks, IIDA!

Nothing on this planet gets me motivated like new notebooks, new calendars, and (tragically) old pens
If you’re interested and can bear with a small bout of identity crisis, I’ve got a Playlist that can pull you through any afternoon, no matter how unwilling it may be to inch by.
The mix has encapsulated my 2013 vibes and was thrown together at the request of my main gal, Erica. I’ve been jamming it on all projects large and small, from dishes to As-Builts.
Swapping mixes with a friend can speak to how you’re doing more than any letter ever could.

Who loves our student community?
Who loves nurturing and fostering their development?
The answer is hopefully YOU, but in case your enthusiasm is a little waning, hop over to IIDA Southern California’s blog for a recharge.
I recently spoke to all 6 winning students of this year’s inaugural IIDA Student Charrette and put what they had to say into a blog post highlighting the event.
The whole day was a blast and I think that came across in the work we saw!
Here’s another concept board!
This was developed for a known retailer serving the modern young woman on budget. The client proposed the question: “How does your interpretation of the brand inform the spatial relationship between brand identity and storefront?”
My interpretation is probably a wee-bit more “grown up.”
Maybe our debutante has graduated college and is in her first job?
Either way, click through for a better peep- and check out those mohair shorts!
Happy Thanksgiving!
(& thanks, Flavorpill, for the heads up- see more vintage balloons here!)
Want to spy on one of my projects?
While at Pfeiffer Partners, I worked on the new performing arts center for SUNY Potsdam and just found their Live Construction Cam!
We’re about a year too late for most of the action, but can still sneak a peek.
My pal Sterlz just did an entire collection for Globe, then got together with a bunch of pals and shot this amazing short to feature it. Check it out!

What do you do when you need to breathe, but you don’t have more than 3 or 4 minutes to squeeze a break in?
Since college, whenever I am in a pinch and need a bit of relief, I always yield to the almighty power of Mariah Carey, making a new list or two, and some peanut M&M’s.
Never fails.
There are a lot of really lovely ways we see light used in our environment: fixtures, art installations, a framed view…
But what about when we manipulate light spatially, to let it do what it does best all by itself, and just glow?
What I love about all of these spaces, from a hallowed chapel to a humble bathroom, is the way the entry of light completely changes the way we would experience the space but still manages to feel so completely effervescent.
